3’s Up: The Roderic D. Scott Foundation, Incorporated, was established in 2016 to honor the legacy of Roderic Deshaun Scott, who passed away on March 4, 2016. Roderic was a student who excelled on and off the courts. An avid athlete since the age of 3, Roderic played football and baseball but was most passionate about basketball. He was instrumental in the St. Jude Catholic High School basketball team winning back to back Class 1A state championships in 2013 and 2014. He also played in the 2015 7A state tournament with the Robert E. Lee High School basketball team. Roderic also excelled academically by maintaining his honor roll status
and participating in community service projects. He announced his commitment to Jacksonville State University in January 2016 and was posthumously selected as an honorary member of the 2016 Alabama High School Athletic Association boys’ all-star team.
Roderic touched the hearts of many and his legacy will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, class and teammates.
